GoodExtension

Your guide to greener choices, where every click whispers change and every purchase echoes care.

Problem Overview

Online shopping habits have grown rapidly, but most consumers remain unaware of the environmental impact of the products they buy. A 2022 IBM survey found that over 50% of consumers are willing to pay more for sustainable products, yet lack the tools or visibility to make eco-conscious choices at the point of purchase.

Existing platforms like Amazon or other e-commerce sites do not highlight carbon footprint data or offer real-time, sustainable alternatives. This leaves eco-aware shoppers with the burden of researching alternatives themselves, often switching between multiple tabs and sources—leading to frustration and inconsistent buying decisions.

Additionally, many users, want to align their purchases with their values but find the process inconvenient, non-transparent, or simply unavailable during their normal shopping flow.

Environmentally conscious shoppers want to make sustainable choices while shopping online, but they face a lack of visibility, guidance, and real-time alternatives at the point of purchase.

This problem affects a growing group of users - particularly women aged 25 - 45 who are willing to adopt greener habits but are limited by the current e-commerce experience.

Today, users must rely on manual research, switching between tabs or third-party blogs to verify product sustainability. This makes the process time-consuming, inconsistent, and often leads to eco-fatigue—where convenience wins over conscious choices. While some platforms offer sustainability badges, they are either non-standardized, unclear, or limited to specific brands.

There is a clear need for a seamless, browser-integrated tool that offers real-time sustainable alternatives, simplifies decision-making, and helps users make climate-conscious purchases without disrupting their flow.
